Sales Manager (870-3396)

Basic Function

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and driving the growth of Converge® Polyol sales in North America for Aramco Performance Materials (APM). This role will establish the sales strategies and monitor its performance ensuring sales targets are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing account strategies and negotiating sales agreements in order to achieve volume and profitability targets
  • Recommend product-pricing strategy for each account to maximize profitability
  • Drive sales targets and develop volume and revenue forecasts, sales plans, and strategies for achieving optimal results
  • Identify and create new business opportunities in alignment with APM business strategy
  • Build and maintain close, personal relationships with key accounts
  • Participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans and strategies based on knowledge of customers and competitors
  • Analyze industry developments and trends to support new product development
  • Ensure short and long-term sales forecasts by customers and products are met
  • Educate customers on new products and product enhancements; articulate and present product features and benefits
  • Maintain records of all pricings, sales and activity reports and provide statuses to management as required
  • Provide subject matter expertise as required during RFPs and RFIs, leading customer presentations as needed
  • Support communication initiatives, including writing press releases, presentations for industry conferences, creation of technical papers, etc.
  • Direct work of subordinates as/when appropriate
  • Perform other relevant and related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Chemistry or other closely related field of academic study required; advanced degree preferred
  • Must have ten (10) plus years of experience in the polyurethane industry with at least eight (8) years of sales and/or technical experience with a proven track record of setting, meeting and exceeding sales targets required
  • Strong knowledge of the Polyol and Polyurethane business, products and applications is required
  • Must have excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies and standard business etiquette
  • Robust negotiation and price implementation skills are necessary as well as advanced analytical and business skills
  • Must have a strong customer focus and be able to maintain excellent relationships with customers and distributors at all levels
  • Must be able to work independently or as a team, and work remotely as required
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, periodic overnight travel, weekend and evening work as required
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined; good communication skills both orally and written are essential
