Basic Function:

Monitor and support Saudi Arabian students on scholarship in North America to successfully complete their academic program. Monitoring includes visiting students, collecting data, and maintaining data in our management system.  It also includes arranging engagement activities for our students to participate in that reflect our corporate values. Develops and manages relations with relevant personnel at universities such as international office staff, admissions officials, and department-level student coordinators or advisors..

 

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in HR, Education, Business, or related field of study.
  • Some knowledge of immigration regulations affecting foreign students (F visa)
  • Typically, at least six (6) years of experience in a human resources, education, or training field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of professionals, university staff, university officials and executives throughout Aramco and university systems.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in English.
  • Must be able using computer systems and creating and maintaining documentation.

 

Duties:

  • Manage portfolio of students and universities in North America
  • Review student performance and provide support to enable them to meet company expectations.
  • Develop and manage relations with assigned universities.
  • Arrange management visits at universities.
  • Arrange student engagement activities from recognition ceremonies to volunteer events.
  • Develop and maintain student records in both local and in-Kingdom student management systems.
  • Respond to a high volume of requests from Saudi Arabian counterparts and students.
  • Facilitate orientations, meet-and-greets and virtual meetings for multiple audiences.
  • Conduct on-site and virtual evaluations of students.
  • Submit regular reports on students.
  • Manage emergent projects as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: 

No supervisory responsibilities, but often serves as a resource to others, especially for knowledge transfer, training and checking work.  May occasionally lead a team. 

 

DECISION MAKING & SUPERVISION RECEIVED:   

  • Determines action to be taken within limits of standard practices and procedures and arranges own activities to meet defined schedule.  

  • Receives supervision from the Staff Advisor of assigned area.  Normally works independently and receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments. 

 

BUSINESS CONTACTS: 

  • Daily within ASC to provide advice and consultation on assigned functions and to implement policies.  Daily with ASC and Saudi Aramco employees, students, and candidates to resolve problems.  Daily with ASC line management in administering procedures and systems.   Occasionally with counterparts in Saudi Aramco and subsidiary companies. 

  • Occasionally with outside companies and consultants to gather information for analyses and policy development. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: 

  • Primarily office environment. 

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend with good balance, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. 

  • Regularly required to sit, perform repetitive duties, use standard office equipment and to talk and hear. 

  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus is needed. 

  • Occasionally required to lift, move and carry up to 10 pounds. 

  • Travels approximately 0-10% of time to meetings, conferences, or university campuses in Houston and throughout North America.
