Lead Refined Products Analyst (1366)

Position Overview:

• The Market Analyst will lead the development of the market analytics for refined products in the Americas directly supporting the Light and Middle Distillate trading desks by providing commercial insights around the supply/demand dynamics of the Atlantic Basin and USGC markets.  The Market Analyst will report directly to the ATA Director of Trading Development and Growth and indirectly to the Global Head of Market Analysis

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead the building and maintenance of supply/demand models to understand and forecast market balances across the barrel with granular line-item details including runs, demand, imports, exports, yield, and production.
• Leverage knowledge of various market factors, to formulate and communicate a point-of-view on oil markets.
• Serve a team member in building market fundamentals capability across the trading floor.
• Share insights with the global trading organization.
• Coordinate with the Global Head of Market Analysis on approaches to building global refined product market balance.
• Ensure quality of data driving balances and work toward efficiency of data collection processes.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

• 3+ years of analytical experience covering the North American fuels markets, ideally on a trading floor.
• Solid understanding of the downstream processes and economics.
• Prior experience successfully working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with advanced analytical tools/coding languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
• Ability to work in an office environment located in downtown Houston, TX
